Design
HTC Thunderbolt using touchscreen TFT display 4.3 "with a level of resolution WVGA (480x800) pixels. The screen does not have good visibility in direct sunlight. The screen becomes dark and difficult to be seen although the backlight feature is used.
Below the screen, there are 4 buttons touchscreen navigation with sensitivity level of the home, menu, back, and search. Then on top of the screen, there is a status LED indicator that flashes green when you get a new message and it will be red when you're charging. There is also a 1.3 megapixel camera. At the top, there is a power button / lock and 5.3mm headset jack. On the right, there is a button and the volume settings on the left side there is a microUSB port. At the rear, there is a 8-megapixel autofocus camera with dual-LED flash and a kickstand that comes to use when watching the video but unfortunately the kickstand will cover the speakers when not in use.
Operating System
HTC Thunderbolt using the Android OS 2.2.1 Froyo equipped with the latest version of the user interface HTC Sense. You can arrange the 7 homescreens by adding icons. For additional customization, you can choose from 6 different scenes (Verizon, HTC, Social, Work, Play, and Travel) and all scenes have the look of its own layout. You can also choose 5 skins (HTC, Black Board, Metal, Slate, and Wood) that will also change the look of any scenes.
Sense HTC user interface has the ability for social networking with Friend Stream application. This application will combine content from Facebook and Twitter. Beside that you can read the latest posts from your friends or you can even post your tweets and status simultaneously without the need to run these two applications are separate. You also can take pictures and upload photos directly to your social networking account.
Multimedia
HTC ThundeBolt using 8-megapixel autofocus camera with dual-LED flash. Because there is no dedicated button for camera, you can use the camera to adjust the focus of the camera and you just press the shutter icon on the right side. There are several effects that can be used on the camera interface HTC Thunderbolt. You can access it by pressing the magic wand icon in the right side of the interface, then you will get the effects of different cameras such as Distortion, Vignette, Depth of Field, Vintage, Vintage Warm, Cold Vintage, Grayscale, Sepia, Negative, Solarize, posterize, and Aqua.
HTC Thunderbolt camera is capable to record video with resolution (1280x720) pixels with 28 frames-per-second and data rate of 8 Mbps.
Music player displays several options but the options in portrait mode by tilting the handset into landscape mode then the music player will display the cover flow so you can easily select an album. The audio quality of the HTC Thunderbolt is fairly good. There are several equalizer presets that can be used.
Internet and Connectivity
HTC Thunderbolt using a dual-band single-band CDMA and LTE, which enables the HTC Thunderbolt use the 4G network capabilities. HTC Thunderbolt is also equipped with Wi-Fi (802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n), Bluetooth version 2.1 + EDR, and microUSB port. With 4G Mobile HotSpot, HTC Thunderbolt can connect with 8 devices and a hotspot for connected devices.
The default browser of Android will feature a perfect website as the browser on your phone. Then the browser also supports multi-touch, pinch-to-zoom, and Adobe Flash content. One of the main capabilities of the HTC Thunderbolt is you can use the capabilities of 4G, such as browsing on a website while talking on the phone simultaneously.
