Nokia C2-02

Design
The Nokia C2-02 has a simple, clean design. The front panel of the Nokia C2-02 is mostly taken by the 2.6” touchscreen LCD of QVGA resolution (320 x 240 pixels). Its dimension is 103 x 51.4 x 17 mm and weight is 115 grams. Below the screen display, there are the Call and End buttons, while the earpiece is the only thing above it on the front panel.
Sliding up reveals 12 more keys set up in four rows of three – the standard alphanumeric layout. There are no controls on the left side or at the bottom. The right-hand side of the phone is busier, with the volume rocker, screen lock slider and the lanyard eyelet. At the top, there are the 3.5mm audio jack, the standard microUSB port and the 2mm Nokia charger plug. At the back, there are the loudspeaker grill and the 2 megapixel camera lens.

Operating System
The Nokia C2-02 runs Series 40 software, which still feels very familiar even though it has touchscreen feature enabled. There have been some changes since the previous batch of S40 touch phones but it has some improvements too, like swipe gestures on the homescreen.
Active standby mode (or Home screen mode, as Nokia call it here) is available as usual. It divides the screen into four sections, each of which houses a widget.
There are two swipe gestures available on the homescreen - left and right swipe. Each can be set to launch an app (both native and Java) or change the phone profile. By default, a left swipe opens the message composer and a right swipe opens the Java apps and games folder.

Multimedia
The Nokia C2-02 has a 2MP fixed-focus camera that produces photos with maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200. It can only play QVGA videos in MP4 or 3GP format. Nokia C2-02 is able to record video in QCIF resolution at 15 fps.
The music player of the Nokia C2-02 practically hasn’t seen any changes except getting touch support. It still offers decent looks and a solid set of features, including album art, and a fair number of supported formats. Songs can be filtered by artist, album and genre. The player handles AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, MP3, WMA, AMR-NB.

Internet and Connectivity
The connectivity on the Nokia C2-02 is pretty basic – that is dual-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and no 3G support and Wi-Fi. The other is Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP profile.
Nokia C2-02 is offered a new browser. Its start screen has the usual URL and search bards and below it are three side-scrollable panes, which are quite reminiscent of the Symbian homescreen (complete with the three dots at the bottom that indicate the current pane). One excellent new feature is the autosuggestions as you type in the URL - it lists recently visited sites and filters the list as you type. It even offers to save you a few clicks by guessing the ".com" at the end. Despite the Adobe Flash Lite 3.0 support, Nokia C2-02 web browser doesn’t support Flash. You can download Opera Mini as an alternative browser.
