Samsung is looking to expand its Android market range with the Galaxy Mini, also known as the GT-S5570. This pint-sized smart phone is smaller than the others Samsung Galaxy phone. It’s easier on the wallet.
Design
The Mini certainly lives up to its name. Its size is smaller than the others Galaxy series. When it compared to other Android devices, its dimensions seem look smaller. The dimension is 110.4 x 60.8 x 12.1 mm, weight is 105 gram.
Galaxy Mini LCD TFT screen measuring 3.14 inches with a resolution of 240x320 pixels (QVGA). It is relatively small in its class. Injections of 262.144 color display enrich the menu on this phone.
Thanks to a capacitive touch screen, Galaxy Mini can be operated comfortably through the soft touch of a finger, including good sensitivity and no special problems when responding to the touch of a finger. In some features, this phone is already present multi-touch features or pinch to zoom.
Operating System
The combination of the Android OS 2.2 (Froyo) and support 600 MHz processor makes Galaxy Mini quite good in acceleration. Navigation menus and application execution is smooth. Transitions between menus or operation of the application process are fairly smoothly, only the occasional annoying lag that happens. Only the occasional is annoying lag that happens.
As always you'll find customizable homescreen with seven panels that can be fitted with various widgets and shortcuts. Homescreen can be reduced according to taste and it is actually quite helpful in speeding up the navigation process.
TouchWiz has become the hallmark of the main menu has a menu page that looks the grid is shifted to the side (the page may increase in number).
Multimedia
Galaxy Mini camera capability provides a fair impression, strength of 3.15 megapixel with geotagging.
Camera interface standard with features appear such as shooting mode, scene modes, white balance, ISO setting, focus mode, the effect of up to photo quality. In this sector there are hardly any significant differences with other mobile class. Unfortunately in the video recording, the resolution offered is only 320x240 pixels (QVGA) @ 15 fps. The record was not smooth.
The music player is still the standard Galaxy Mini TouchWiz UI. Interface consists of multiple tabs that can sort options: artists, albums, songs and playlists. Interestingly, the Galaxy already has DNSe equalizer and audio technology to strengthen the sector. Unlike when listening via the headset, the music that came out was more dynamic between bass and treble.
The phone also includes an FM radio as an alternative audio entertainment. Practical and easy to use interface but to listen to the radio broadcasts needed a headset instead of an antenna. Regarding the video player capabilities, Galaxy Mini can play the files with standard formats mp4/H.264/H.263/WMV9/Divx and mp3/wav/eACC+..
Internet and Connectivity
Galaxy Mini has support 3G/HSDPA network at speeds up to 7.2 Mbps or if you want another alternative to using Wi-fi in the hotspot area.
Like Android-based phone Froyo in general, WiFi technology features supported in the Galaxy Mini Tethering and portable hotspot. You can share Internet connection from the mobile phone to other devices via Wi-fi. Setting is very easy.
Default browser that carried this phone is quite satisfactory. Starting from the existence of the function of the refresh, back and forward, add bookmarks, open a new tab (four pages) and access the settings. You can do zooming by double tap or pinch to zoom. Unfortunately, the phone does not support Flash Player 10.1.
